Alpha lipoic acid (LA) is a naturally occurring compound required for converting glucose into ATP (chemical energy). In addition LA supports the body’s natural defence against oxidative stress.
A potent antioxidant in its own right, it also “recycles” other antioxidants such as vitamins E and C, Co-Q10 and glutathione, so they can continue to protect against free radical damage. LA has a unique ability to cross the blood-brain barrier, therefore helping normalise oxidative stress in the brain.
