Thank you for your comments. Yes, as we mentioned in our article the sun is definitely the best natural source of vitamin D. However there are times when it is difficult to get enough vitamin D from the sun such as during winter when the sun is too low in the sky to provide enough UVB rays for adequate vitamin D production. This is where supplementation can be beneficial.

Yes, vitamin D toxicity is possible and for this reason we recommend consulting your healthcare professional for tests to confirm whether you are deficient in this vitamin prior to beginning supplementation. From my research, documented cases of vitamin D toxicity involved doses of 40,000 IU (International Units) per day or higher, which is difficult to achieve with most vitamin D supplements providing only 1000 - 5000 IU per capsule.

The most natural way is to have sensible sun exposure daily to allow your body to make the amount of vitamin-D required. This is a nature process for human body to stay healthy.
Using vitamin-D supplement may cause overdose.

Water quantity per day. Have read over the years of the reco amount of water we should drink per day- this 2 litre figure is constantly recommended.

Having tried and failed to drink anywhere near 2 litres/day I think this figure is wildly inflated. All it leads to is increased urination. The science behind this figure must be flawed.

For me the the figure is about 1 litre/day. Over that -its a waste of time.

Please read Gary Taubes book on Carbohydrates. You will be really surprised. I myself have done huge research in the last year. And been on a low carb diet for health reasons for 11 months.(no not obesity) Amazing results. Menopausal symptoms =gone, menstration cycle has gone from 23 days back to 28 days. IBS hugely better and many many other things have really improved AND my Good Cholesterol is up. Carbs are not a good source of nutrients. They are ok in small amounts.
