Are You Lactose Intolerant?
People who are lactose intolerant typically experience stomach bloating, gas, cramps and irregular bowels. Symptoms usually appear 30 minutes to 2 hours after eating and vary by individual and the type and quantity of dairy foods consumed. Devigest uses the highest potency lactase enzymes available. When taking lactase digesting enzymes like those in Devigest, you should take it with the first bite of the dairy product for maximum effectiveness. Taking it too soon before a meal, or too late after consuming dairy reduces the product's ability to interact with the dairy products in the digestive system.

 Clinical Considerations:
The Bromelain, papain and other proteases all work on the digestion of proteins. Bromelain attacks the long chain polypeptides of the proteins ingested, and breaks them down via hydrolysis to shorter chain peptides. These peptides are subsequently hydrolysed by Papain, into basic amino acids or lower molecular lower weight peptides.
